01/02/14: Climb For Clean Water Fundraiser WOD

Happy New Year 908ers!  Only two months until the CrossFit Open starts.  Be on the lookout for 908 Next Level classes to start in the next week.  More details to come.  Registration for the 2014 CrossFit Open will begin on January 15.

It’s a new year and Yoga @ Crossfit908 is one year old! Our yoga classes are a great deal and taught by an enthusiastic instructor for whom yoga is a passion. On top of that, practicing yoga even once a week will help to increase your mobility and flexibility. You can also improve your ability to maintain your focus and learn to use your breath more efficiently while working out.

To celebrate our yoga “anniversary” and to give you an opportunity to just de-stress from the holidays, this Sunday’s yoga class (January 5th) is free to all! Light snacks (and maybe even mimosas!) will follow.

You must sign up in advance through ZenPlanner or email [email protected].

On Saturday, January 4th, we are hosting a benefit WOD for Unicef.  Our good friend and member of CrossFit 908, Pita Sarkar, will be trekking and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro on January 20, 2014, to benefit the UNICEF Tap Project to provide proper hygeine and clean water for millions around the world. She will be visiting surrounding regions in Turkana and Nairobi, Kenya who have benefited from the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) program set up by UNICEF and the Government of the Netherlands.

ALL are welcome, not just CrossFit 908 members.  Expect an awesome team workout, and don’t be surprised if you see some rope climbs (there will be modifications for those who cannot rope climb)!

Registration for the WOD is FREE, but we encourage you to donate towards Pita’s fundraiser.  908 members, you will not be charged for this class.  We cleared out all prior reservations due to changing the format of Saturday’s class, so please make sure you preregister again.  Please click here to donate and to learn more about Pita’s upcoming journey.  100% of the funds raised on Pita’s Crowdrise page go to UNICEF.  Thank you for your support!
